Motorcycle.Com

We got it!!!
After 8 months of work, we have finally landed the deal to buy Motorcycle.com! It was definetly the most grueling deal we have ever done. It took up a lot of time and patience, and there was a number of times we thought it was 'dead', but each time our persistence paid off and eventually we got a deal done.
This week we flew down to meet the Motorcycle.com staff, and what a great experience that was. These guys are really passionate and dedicated - reminds me of our very own magazine staff! You really cannot replace passion. You can pay people millions of dollars, but if they do not intimately care about their work, then you are just throwing your money away. I'm very excited to begin working with these guys.
First task will be "announcing change" to the community of users. This is the most difficult part of acquisition. People think we are going to come in and screw things up. But generally, for all the hoopla around the acquisition, things generally stay the same and we make the "Verticalscope improvements" ... which the Motorcycle editors have already agreed to: "Motorcycle.com needs a facelift!"

More deals to come, but this one was a BIG one for us! :D
